We have just rolled out a new UI for our Antivirus app for Android. The new look gives you a faster picture of your online security – and makes it easier for you to improve it.
Online security is more than keeping away from malware. The new UI divides this spectrum into three basic categories – Antivirus, Security, and More – with each category having its own tab. You can gamify your security, with the app giving a numerical score to individual protection features and best-security practices.
Antivirus is the start
- Automatically scans apps and their updates for hidden malware
- Scans external storage units such as SD memory cards for malware.
- Rates each app on a privacy scale according to how much of your sensitive data it collects.
Secure Browsing (Pro only) warns you if a visited URL is malicious or is a phishing site. This feature is powered by the cloud-based Avira Protection Cloud. It works together with the default browser on your device, in addition to Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera.
Security sized for you
The security features in Avira Antivirus Security can protect you and your device from the risks of physical and identity theft. Identity Safeguard protects your online identity, checking if you or your contacts’ email addresses have been leaked in a 3rd party security breach. Privacy Advisor is now included in the Antivirus section as keeping your data private is becoming as important as blocking classical malware. Privacy Advisor provides an important educational function by rating each app on a privacy scale according to how much data it collects.
